Jan Lars Mueller is the executive director of the Association for the Study of Peak Oil USA, a non-profit non-partisan organization dedicated to helping America understand and adapt to a new energy reality, where oil and gas are becoming more costly and difficult to extract from the Earth, and their rate of supply may peak and decline.

Prior to joining ASPO-USA, Jan headed the transportation and community energy program at the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI), a research and education organization founded to provide Congress with independent information on energy and environmental issues. Jan previously spearheaded the transportation policy program manager at National Wildlife Federation (NWF). He holds graduate degrees in resource management and landscape architecture, and an undergraduate degree in economics, all from the University of Michigan.
