The following EIA chart shows the history of aggregate U.S. oil production. It peaked in 1970, just as M. King Hubbert predicted in 1956.

The potential flow rates of the remaining U.S. deposits of conventional and unconventional liquids are formally unknown until they are produced, but their contribution cannot fundamentally change the basic trend line of our petroleum production.
